If you are injured at work and are unable to return to you usual employer, you are entitled to receive assistance in finding new suitable employment at no cost to you.
AMS provides New Employer Services (NES) which are Employment and Recruitment Services to assist you in finding suitable and safe work with a new employer. AMS will provide you with the necessary services to get you back into the workforce as safely and quickly as possible taking into consideration your individual circumstances.

- Support both before and after you obtain employment
- If eligible, we can provide a support package to your future employer to help secure employment for you.
AMS are fully approved by Worksafe to provide these services and we are independent to your past employer and Insurance Company / Worksafe agent. With our experienced staff and easily accessible office locations, we can provide you with the strategies and tools to assist you on your journey to new employment.

What is NES?
New Employer Services (NES) are Occupational Rehabilitation Services that support you find suitable and safe work with a new employer when you are unable to return to work with your original employer.
Am I required to participate in NES?
As you will usually have a current WorkCover claim, there are requirements and obligations required of you. Further information on this can be found on the WorkSafe website: https://www.worksafe.vic.gov.au/program-new-employer-services-nes-workers or alternatively you can contact you WorkSafe Claims Agent.
What if my Certificate states I have no work capacity?
Our Capacity Support Service (CSS) program is designed to assist you in building your capacity and is customised to your individual needs. We work with you and your treaters to ensure any proposed upgrades to your capacity are safe and sustainable.
How often will I meet with my consultant?
This will depend on your individual circumstances and the agreement you make with the Consultant provided to you.
Are you going to find me a job?
Our services are focussed on you. Working together, your chances of gaining a job will be enhanced and improved. Our services are tailored to you and your individual circumstances. If you are unable to find a suitable job while in our program, we are confident that you will be provided with the skills and resources necessary to independently source employment.
Why should I return to work?
Research confirms what we already know. If you are injured at work, the best place for you to gradually recover is at work. Generally, if you are able to return to work sooner, you will achieve a better and speedier recovery. We understand the health benefits of safe work and we help ensure that you have a timely and safe return to work so that you and your family can realise these benefits.
What happens if/when I get a job?
If and when you are successful in securing a new job, CONGRATULATIONS!
We will then coach, guide and support you to settle you into your new role as smoothly as possible.
What is OES (Original Employer Services)
OES is an approved occupational rehabilitation service where assistance is provided to help you with safely returning to work with your employer. The service is provided as part of your claim and at no direct cost to you. The service is delivered with consideration of all your current circumstances.
Who referred you to me?
If you haven’t chosen us yourself, a referral for OES usually comes from your WorkSafe Agent. However, it is important to understand that AMS is independent to your WorkSafe Agent and provides an impartial service to you.

What will I need to do?
Your consultant will contact you and make arrangements for an initial meeting with you. This meeting usually takes place at your usual workplace if appropriate, so that all relevant workplace factors can be assessed and considered. From this process, recommendations will be made based on the assessment. As OES is an occupational rehabilitation services, there are levels of participation that are required from you.
Will you be providing my treatment?
OES does not involve the provision of primary treatment. Your current treating health practitioners will continue to provide treatment services. OES works with them in assisting you to recover and safely return to work (RTW)
Who do you work for?
AMS is an independent organisation, and the service that we provide is impartial and objective. Whilst referrals are usually received from your WorkSafe Agent, the service we provide is independent to them. We do however, communicate with your WorkSafe Agent and provide them with updates regarding your progress.
Why do you need to contact my doctor and physio etc
In order to provide services that ensure a safe return to work for you, we need to take into consideration feedback and recommendations from your treating health practitioners. This includes things such as your current capabilities, treatment goals and relevant timeframes.
Who do you send reports to?
AMS is required to send reports to the key parties relevant to your occupational injury/condition and your safe return to work. This usually includes your treating health practitioners, employer, and your WorkSafe Agent. All parties receive the same version of the report.
Do I need to work with you?
As you will usually have a current claim, this will mean there are requirements and obligations required of you. For further information with regard to this; please contact your WorkSafe Agent.
